Danny grew up in San Diego where he played for Epic Volleyball Club. He had a record 4-year high school career at Poway and was recruited and went on to play at UCLA where he graduated in 2014. With his intricate knowledge, passion, and understanding of the game, he is excited to continue his coaching career at Actyve Volleyball!
Coaching Experience

Danny began his coaching career while attending UCLA where he coached the UCLA Women’s volleyball summer camps for three years leading groups aged 12-18. In his last year at UCLA he began his club coaching career as the Head Coach of the 14-2s team at Sports Shack Volleyball Club. There, he elevated his team a very respectable 124 places in SCVA standings throughout the duration of the season. In 2013 he also coached Wildwood’s middle school team.

Playing Experience

Danny played club volleyball in San Diego for Epic, and his high school volleyball at Poway High. At Epic, he took his club team to two straight silver medal finishes in 2008 and 2009, and 5th place in 2010 at the Junior Olympics. He was named to the All-Tournament team each of those three years.
At the high school level, he started all four years at Poway and holds multiple records including career assists and kills. While at Poway, he led his team to a second place finish in Division I CIF Southern Section and fifth in State during his senior year. He was named All-League during his sophomore, junior, and senior year and All-CIF his junior and senior year and was also voted team MVP each of those years.
Danny also lettered in Track and Field his junior year and in Basketball his junior and senior years. In basketball he was named first team all-county honors his senior year, and invited to play in the All San Diego County Senior All-Star Game and Dunk Competition. His senior year, Danny was named Athlete of the Year at his High School. After high school, Danny went on to attend UCLA where he just graduated this past spring. He played his freshman and sophomore years under the legendary coach Al Scates before his retirement after 50 years and 19 NCAA Championships.
