Personal

Giannina was born and raised in what she calls “the outskirts of Koreatown” in Los Angeles where she began playing volleyball at the age of 9. She graduated from Immaculate Heart High school in 2009 and received a B.S. in Kinesiology from Cal State Northridge in 2013. In 2017, she received her Teaching Credential in Physical Education from Cal State Los Angeles. In 2019, she shifted careers away from the service industry back into the arms of volleyball and found a home at Actyve. Giannina also works at Cheviot Hills Recreation Center primarily teaching Preschool, helping the volleyball program, or during the summer/winter months as a camp counselor. She has a mixed terrier son named Nacho and welcomed her daughter, Marisol, in the summer of 2022. Talk to her about Dodgers baseball!
