Kenji started playing Volleyball in East County San Diego at Grossmont High School where he spearheaded the start of Boy’s High School Volleyball as a CIF sport by trying out and making the girls team. It’s an interesting story, ask him about it! A two-time All-CIF setter who also played OH/OP reached JO’s with his 16U club team, taking bronze.
From the indoor game, he transitioned to the beach and reverse co-ed grass, eventually earning a AA rating on grass. Kenji’s passion for teaching youth sports is exhibited in his past experiences coaching track & field, girls club basketball and volleyball. He gets enormous joy from watching youth players learn and grow through the challenges that team sports bring.
